VOLUNTEER APPLICATION PROCESS
Dear Parents,
There are many ways to volunteer at school. You can assist by helping at home preparing classroom materials, working with the PTSA, volunteering at the Book Fair, volunteering as a Field Trip chaperone, or in the classroom. All volunteers must have clearance from Miami Dade Public Schools to volunteer at school. You can request such clearance through your Parent Portal, in the Apps/Applications tab.

Please note that NO ONE (regardless of previous clearance) will be allowed to enter the school without a current clearance. Each year you must reapply for clearance.
If you would like to get cleared to volunteer, please follow the steps below:
- Go to www.dadeschools.net
- Click on "Parents" and log into the Parent Portal. (To access the Parent Portal you need a PIN Number. You can get a PIN Number by bringing your photo ID to the main office and requesting one.)
- Once you are logged into the Parent Portal, click on "Apps and Services."
- Then click on "Become a volunteer."
- Acknowledge and accept the terms.
- Complete the volunteer form and submit it.
- Once you have completed the volunteer form, click "OK."
- On the next screen select our school name (Norman S. Edelcup Sunny Isles Beach) for the location.
- Click Level 1 and indicate the activities that you are interested in volunteering for (for example, Day Chaperone, PTSA, etc.)
- Do NOT click anything on the Level 2 box
- Submit your application and close/log out
It will take a few days to get cleared. You can log back in to see your approval status. Once you see that you have been approved, print out the page and bring it to the main office with a valid photo ID. The office will make a copy of your ID, and add you as a cleared volunteer.
